About The Festival

The NYS Sheep & Wool Festival

Every October, tens of thousands of fiber enthusiasts gather in Rhinebeck, NY for one of the nation’s most celebrated sheep and wool festivals.

What began as a gathering of shepherds and wool producers has grown into a vibrant tradition that brings together artisans, educators, farmers, vendors, and curious newcomers to share a passion for fiber arts, livestock, and rural heritage.

Whether you’re shopping for handcrafted goods, attending a workshop, watching sheep competitions, or meeting fellow makers, the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival offers something for everyone.
