NEW YORK SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL

Black and White Sheep Show

October 19-20, 2024

SPONSORED by THE DUTCHESS COUNTY SHEEP AND WOOL GROWERS ASSOCIATION
Judge: Matt Best

Dear Exhibitor,

We plan to go live in early September for online registration. Please watch for it to go live--there is no need to contact us. We will accept entries until all pens are taken. Once all pens are full, we will keep a waitlist so email Heidi at hsimmons@bard.edu if you would like to be put on the waitlist.

  • Please arrive through the livestock gate on the north side of the fairgrounds.
  • Penning Charts will be posted in each barn. A reasonable number of pens will be assigned depending on the number of sheep entered. Please do not assume you will necessarily receive the number of pens you requested when entering.
  • Health papers must be dated within 60 days of the NYSWF. All animals will be inspected upon penning by UDSA personnel as soon as your animals are checked in. Be sure to take care of this as soon as possible.

  • Twist of Fate and Agway will be next to the sheep barns for your convenience. Agway will be selling hay, straw & grain. Their contact information is (845) 876-1559 and www.mac’sagway.com.

  • Sheep may arrive on the grounds from noon on Thursday, October 17th through 8 am Saturday, October 19th.

  • Only sheep entered in the show or breed display may be penned on the grounds.

  • Animals will be released AFTER the exhibitors meeting on Sunday with those living furthest away leaving first. You can get important information regarding departure from Lisa Lafferty when you register. Exhibitors will NOT be allowed to walk animals out through the back entry gate.

PLEASE CONTACT US AT hsimmons@bard.edu WITH ANY CHANGES IN NUMBERS OR CANCELLATIONS (not substitutions). Substitutions may be made within the same class as entered. It may allow someone who is on the waitlist an opportunity to participate in our show.
