October 19-20, 2019

SPONSORED BY THE DUTCHESS COUNTY SHEEP AND WOOL GROWERS
and our generous Sponsors!
Judge: Ed Julian

Dear Exhibitor,

We are looking for sponsors for Champion Ewe, Champion Ram and Champion Fleece for all six categories (White Fine, White Medium, White Long, Natural Colored Fine, Medium and Long). $25 per award.

We would also appreciate sponsors for the Supreme Awards (White Supreme Ram, Ewe, Fleece and Natural Colored Supreme Ram, Ewe and fleece). $50 per award.

If you are interested in sponsorship, please email us at hsimmons@bard.edu. Thank you very much for your generosity.

We expect to go live on August 19, 2019 for online registration.  If for any reason this does not happen, please just watch for it to go live in the next few days—there is no need to contact us.  We will accept entries until all pens are filled at which time a notice will go up on our website. In the event of a cancellation, we will contact the next person on the list requiring the same (or fewer) number of pens that just became available.

  • All SALE SHEEP will be housed in the upper barn.
  • Penning Charts will be posted in each barn. A reasonable number of pens will be assigned depending on the number of sheep entered. Please do not assume you will necessarily receive the number of pens you requested when entering.
  • Health papers must be dated within 90 days of the NYSWF. All animals will be inspected upon penning by USDA personnel as soon as your animals are checked in. Be sure to take care of this as soon as possible.
  • Straw will not be provided but is available for sale on the grounds from Masten Feeds (845) 635-2553 or (845) 656-3544. Their hours will be 10 - 5 on Thursday & 9 - 5 on Friday. If you will not be arriving during these hours, please remember to bring your own straw.
  • Sheep may arrive on the grounds from noon on Thursday, October 17th through 8 am Saturday, October 19th.
  • Only sheep entered in the show, sale or breed display may be penned on the grounds.
  • Animals will be released AFTER the exhibitors meeting on Sunday with those living furthest away leaving first. The order will be determined at the meeting. Please see Chuck if you are planning on leaving right after the meeting.

PLEASE CONTACT US AT hsimmons@bard.edu WITH ANY CHANGES (not substitutions) OR CANCELLATIONS. It may allow someone who is on the waitlist an opportunity to participate in the show.
