NEW YORK SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL

Dear Exhibitor,
We are looking for sponsors for Champion Ewe, Champion Ram and Champion Fleece for all six categories (White Fine, White Medium, White Long, Natural Colored Fine, Medium and Long). $25 per award.
We would also appreciate sponsors for the Supreme Awards (White Supreme Ram, Ewe, Fleece and Natural Colored Supreme Ram, Ewe and fleece). $50 per award.

We expect to go live on August 19, 2019 for online registration. If for any reason this does not happen, please just watch for it to go live in the next few days—there is no need to contact us. We will accept entries until all pens are filled at which time a notice will go up on our website. In the event of a cancellation, we will contact the next person on the list requiring the same (or fewer) number of pens that just became available.
PLEASE CONTACT US AT hsimmons@bard.edu WITH ANY CHANGES (not substitutions) OR CANCELLATIONS. It may allow someone who is on the waitlist an opportunity to participate in the show.
ALL SHEEP PARTICIPATING IN THE SHOW MUST BE REGISTERED AND HAVE REGISTRATION PAPERS WHEN SIGNING IN.
Classes offered: Yearling Ram, Senior Ram, Spring Ram, Yearling Ewe, Senior Ewe, Spring Ewe, Pair of Ram Lambs, Pair of Yearling Ewes, Pair of Ewe Lambs, Pen of Three Lambs (both sexes), Exhibitors Flock (1 ram, 2 yearling ewes, 2 ewe lambs), best fleece (one entry per exhibitor). All entries in group classes must be owned by one exhibitor. Classes with more than 15 entries will be split. Exhibitors are limited to two premiums in individual classes and one premium in group classes.
Premiums: $35, $30, $25, $20, $15, $10, $5, $5
Show Schedule and Order:
Saturday at 2 pm Natural Colored Long followed by White Medium
Sunday at 9 am Natural Colored Fine, White Long, White Fine, Natural Colored Medium followed by Supremes (Ram, Ewe, Fleece)
Check in Hours
Thursday 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Friday (NEW) 10 am – NOON, 4 pm - 5:30 pm
Saturday 8:00 am – 9:00 am
Sheep not signed in by 9:00 am on Saturday will not be able to participate in the show and will have to leave the premises.

All animals shall be inspected upon penning or as soon thereafter as possible by USDA personnel. For your convenience the fairgrounds is open until very late (10pm) on Friday, Oct. 18th. For your animals comfort and safety, you may unload your animals into the pens designated for your farm when you arrive. Look for several Penning Charts to find out where you are penned. If it is after 6PM on Friday, review of health papers may be deferred to Saturday AM. If animals are arriving Saturday, they MUST be unloaded and all vehicles removed from the sheep barn area by 8:30 AM. PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH A PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR HEALTH CERTIFICATE(S) TO KEEP ON FILE.
