This multi-craft workshop teaches you 2 lessons in one! Start by learning how to make a strong ten foot long wool cord using the wet felt technique. Then learn basic basket weaving techniques to transform your cord into a resourceful, eco-friendly bowl. Finished bowls are between 5-8 inches wide and 3-5 inches tall. You choose either solid or multi color wool roving for your cord. A wonderful, collaborative project that produces a unique and sustainable product. Bowls will be slightly damp but will dry within a few hours. Remember, 100% wool is naturally water, fire and mildew resistant so no damage will occur to your slightly damp woven bowl.

Hudson Valley Altelier
Carlise Azmitia is a working artist, teacher and Hudson Valley native. She regularly travels the region teaching felting, air dry clay, watercolor and meditative art. 2026 has seen her teaching at Adams School of Art at Hammond Museum, Alice Desmond Center, Bronxville Adult School, several area libraries in the rcls system. Going on 4 years as the art educator at Orange-Ulster Boces Adult Continuing Education and teaching artist in felting at Garrison Art Center. Her workshop studio in Florida, NY allows people to come together to learn, Carlise is over the moon to once again teach at NY Sheep and Wool.
