You’ve heard the names – Tencel, Ecospun, Ingeo, Casein, Soy Silk, Seacell, Viscose. What are they? How do they act? Would they be useful fibers to incorporate into my spinning? By themselves, or blended? In what kinds of projects? Come to this class to find out. We’ll spin many samples for you to get the feel of these fibers and see which ones you would like to incorporate into your spinning life.
Prerequisites: Intermediate level - you must be able to spin a continuous yarn and ply and be comfortable with hand cards or drum carder as you will have the chance to blend fibers for experimentation during class.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions regarding class content.
There is a $25 material fee included in the price of registration. It includes fiber and handouts.
Students must bring: Normal spinning equipment, including hand cards (if you have them), pens, paper, ball winder or niddy noddy, extra bobbins, etc. List will be given to students when they sign up.
