In this half day workshop you will start AND FINISH this beautiful needle felted scarf. The colorful leaves will be the perfect reminder of your October visit to NYSSW.
This workshop is great for beginners. You'll learn all the basics of needle felting as well as a few clever tricks to make the work more along quickly. The base of the scarf is raw edged wool melton - a nice thick black woven fabric. You'll receive many gorgeous autumn colors of roving to needle felt your design into the wool. Everyone will choose the leaf shapes and colors that appeal to them, so no two will be exactly alike. I make and sell scarves of this fabric with raw edges all the time and they work perfectly. But if you desire, you can finish the edges using a blanket stitch on your own.
When the workshop is over you can wear your completed scarf out of the building and show off your new found skill and fabulous new accessory!
All materials for the project are included in the workshop. Please bring a small pair of sharp scissors for cutting paper with you.
