There are many, many sources of yellow dyes in nature, from bright to golden to beige. We also have several blue dyes, but no greens. In this color study intensive workshop we will dye 7 or 8 different yellows from a variety of sources, flowers, leaves, wood shavings, food based tannins and possibly more. We will then overdye these yellows with indigo to create a range of greens, and also tweak the chemistry to push our colors even further.
As always in my color intensive series students will receive a full set of mini skeins that we dye in class, and a color card for their portfolios.
This workshop is a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands on work.
This class is held in a heated tent.
