Grafting magically joins knitted pieces to look like they were knit as a single piece. It can seem intimidating and resources for stitch patterns other than stockinette are hard to find. During this class, we’ll take a deep dive into the rhyme and reason behind basic grafting and then learn how to deduce what to do with unobvious stitch patterns. We’ll even graft some lace! You’ll come away with skills to analyze how to graft practically anything.
Prerequisite: Must be able to work stockinette, rib, garter and seed stitch swatches as homework and confidently identify knit and purl stitches in these swatches.
Skill Level Required: Intermediate
Homework: Knitted swatches from handout (email instructor upon registration), tapestry needle, and contrasting yarn of similar weight to swatches.

A material fee of $2 (cash, please) will be collected by the instructor. It includes a color printed handout.
Students must bring: knitted swatches from handout, tapestry needle, and contrasting yarn of similar weight to swatches.
We also suggest bringing a battery operated light should you need additional lighting.
