Learning to spin yarn from natural fibers is an adventure onto itself. Learning to spin on an electric spinning wheel is equally adventuresome! The class will teach the basics of spinning. We will start with the anatomy of the mini electric wheel. Moving on to an understanding of fibers and how they become yarn, setting up the wheel to spin and away we will go spinning fiber into singles. The class will continue exploring different drafting techniques and plying our singles together. We will end with a discussion of finishing the yarn for use. The instructor will provide spinning wheels to use for the class.
