Come and make a willow ball or sphere for the garden! They are very popular and they add great beauty and interest in the garden. The instructor will be providing a pre-woven willow base, into which participants will insert the upright stakes which will then be connected to make the overall framework of the ball. The rest of the ball is woven in random weave using prepared willow rods. The average size of the ball is 15 inches in diameter but can be made larger. There will be a discussion of making balls of various sizes. This is a fun class and allows for individual variations! The majority of the sphere will be made in class and extra willow will be given to finish at home.
Prerequisites: All levels welcome - Good manual dexterity and an interest in willow basketry.
