There are many ways to work short rows. Each method has pros and cons, so it's helpful to have several different techniques in your knitter's 'toolbox'. This class is not an introduction to short rows, so some prior experience with short rows is necessary. In this class we will sample a few of the different ways to perform them - including the ‘wrap and turn’ method, yarnover method, German short rows, Japanese short rows, and as many others as we have time to get to! We will also cover how to substitute one method for another.
Prerequisites: Intermediate - Knit, purl, decreases, some knowledge and slight experience with short rows.
Email hs@heatherstorta.com for questions regarding class content.
There is a $2 material fee included in the price of registration. It includes handsouts.
Students must bring: Smooth, worsted weight yarn in light color, working needles appropriate to yarn (size 7 or 8 will work for most knitters), clasp style stitch markers or safety pins and homework, left on the needles.
Homework: Cast on 30 sts. Work 1 inch in stockinette. Leave knitting on needles.
