Learn the basics of needle felting with sheep's wool fiber while you create an adorable - and wearable! - pin of your favorite sheep breed! Choose from 3 breeds: Merino, Border Leicester, and Valais Black Nose. When finished you can remove your completed needle felted sculpture from the wooden hoop and attach the pin backing to wear it home; or keep it mounted in the hoop for a unique and charming display piece!

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED:  Absolute Beginner

PREREQUISITE:  N/A

HOMEWORK:  Please email instructor with your choice of animal prior to festival.

MATERIAL FEE:  A material fee of $25 will be collected by the instructor by cash or Venmo at the start of class.  It includes:  4" wooden embroidery hoop, 2 felting needles (1 #38 star, 1 #40 triangle or #40 twist), foam felting pad, core wool fiber, dyed wool fiber, wool felt sheet, pipe cleaner, wooden skewer, pin backing, jewelry glue (shared tube), breed stencils and patterns.

STUDENTS MUST BRING:  Bandaids and additional lighting or magnification source if desired, but not necessary.
