Ready to move on from Plainweave? Let’s add Texture, Fun, and some Bling to our weaving without complicated threading diagrams or extra heddles!
We will play with some easy techniques that will get you thinking about how you can add some “Fancy” to your Plain weaving. Loops, bundles, beads, fringe, floats, color and space will expand what you’ve already been doing, and spark your creativity.
Skill Level Required: Adventurous Beginner. Students should have woven at least one successful piece on their Rigid Heddle Loom - ie: warped, woven, finished and been pleased.
Homework: Bring your working Rigid Heddle Loom with all the clamps, warped with a strong fingering weight yarn in an 8 or 10 dent heddle. Warp should be a length to allow 40+ inches of weaving to accommodate the practice of 10 different techniques.
