Due to the popularity of Wendy's classes, the number of seats available on opening day will be limited to 9. Students can sign up for either the Thursday or Friday workshop, but not both.
A perfect utilitarian basket, students will learn how to weave a basket base around a sturdy, preformed handle. The basket walls are woven with a chase weave with an emphasis on shaping. Rim fitting, scarfing and lashing will also be taught. If time allows, students can decorate the handle in a variety of weaves. Basket dimensions: 13” H x 12”D.
This workshop is held in a heated tent. Your hands will be in and out of water throughout the session.
Prerequisite: None.
Skill Level Required: Open to all levels of experience.

A material fee of $50 will be collected by the instructor - please bring a check. It includes all materials needed to complete the basket, hardwood preformed handle, seagrass, written pattern, rattan for stakes, weavers, rims, lashers and wrapping materials.
NOTE: There is no onsite ATM on Thursday and Friday.
Students must bring: pen and notebook if you wish to take notes.
We also suggest bringing a battery operated light should you need additional lighting.
