Come and join us as we explore the world of Twigg stitch. A wonderful knitting technique where you create a rib with a different color on each side (different from Brioche). Using Twigg stitch you can knit mirrored color patterns, cables, lace and more.
We will spend plenty of our time together learning the basic technique. Then, when you are ready, we can discuss any aspect of the knitting you are interested in, i.e. Increases and decreases, selvedges, specific patterns or stitches from the Twigg stitch book, problem solving etc.
The project hat can be knitted with stripes or any color design you want, and any size you want.
Prerequisites: Good intermediate knitting skills.
Email vickitwigg@gmail.com with questions regarding class content.
There is no material fee for this workshop.
Students must bring:
Technique class : Scrap yarn (2 colors of the same type as described below) to learn and experiment with, and the recommended size needles (any kind). You will want to keep your swatch.
For the project: 2 colors of the same type of sport or medium weight yarn (smooth plied yarn is best) with enough contrast to tell them apart.
One variegated is fine but make sure your other yarn is a good contrast.
You will need the recommended size needles for the yarn, 16" circular. I like metal but any kind will be fine.
