Instructor: | Carolyn Rivello |
Learn the basics of making this delicate-looking yet durable lace. We will look at what threads are best for tatting, we will go over the basics of using the shuttle, and we'll learn how to read the three most common types of pattern notations. We'll also learn how to join new thread when your shuttle runs out, and how to weave in ends. Tatting has only one stitch - once you master the hand motions, you'll be amazed at the patterns that will be within your grasp even as a beginner.
This class will focus on shuttle tatting, but there will be enough time to also demonstrate using a needle.
Prerequisite: No specific skills needed
Skill Level Required: Beginner
