Workshop Info

Learn the ancient and awesome of wet felting during this TWO DAY (Thurs/Fri) workshop where you will create your own pair of wooly slippers! You will learn a variety of techniques involved in wet felting such as color blending, resist felting, 3D forming and more! Your slippers will be custom fit for you feet and the style of the slipper will be entirely designed by you.

Day one (Thursday) will focus on wet felting and forming your slippers and day two (Friday) will focus on decorating your slippers through needle felting.

SKILL LEVEL REQUIRED:  Absolute Beginner

PREREQUISITE: No experience necessary

HOMEWORK:  To create their own lasts for their feet using socks, duct tape and recycled plastic. I will create a handout to share with students the month before to instruct them on how to create these.

THIS WORKSHOP IS HELD IN A HEATED TENT.  Your hands may be in and out of water throughout the session.

MATERIAL FEE:  A material fee of $40 will be collected by the instructor (cash or Venmo).  It includes:  a wet felting kit, olive oil soap, pattern material, wool roving of various breeds, silk fibers, needle felting

STUDENTS MUST BRING: a towel

We also suggest bringing a battery operated light should you need additional lighting.

NOTE:  There is no onsite ATM on Thursday and Friday.
