Curious about using handspun in weaving? This fun workshop offers a chance to both spin and weave. We will be spinning small samples of singles and plied yarns, and then weaving them on the Zoom Loom. This pin loom is great for new or seasoned weavers. Each sample only requires 8 yards of handspun. We will experiment with different drafting and plying techniques, including chain plying, and then work yarn into 4"x4" woven samples. These small samples guide your spinning for yarn to use in your next weaving project. Use of the Zoom Loom provided with class enrollment.
Prerequisite: Must be comfortable behind the spinning wheel. Must be able to spin a consistent yarn with integrity. Some experience plying.
Skill Level Required: Intermediate
Homework: Make sure your wheel is in working order. No time is allotted in the class for wheel maintenance.
