Carol Wood has been a fiber artist for most of her adult life and has been teaching dyeing, knitting, weaving, and designing for more than fifteen years. Educated in studio art (bachelors degree in metalsmithing), she has been interested in natural dyes since high school and many of her projects have incorporated hand-dyed yarns, fleece or fabric.

She also offers fiber arts workshops and produces hand-dyed yarns and fabrics from her home studio in the Hudson Valley. She has taught natural dyeing, weaving, and/or knitting techniques for the Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association, Knitters Guild of Buffalo, NY State Sheep & Wool Festival, Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts (CA), Alfred University, and the John C. Campbell Folk School (NC), as well as for arts associations, guilds and fiber-related businesses and producers. She was a long-time  president of the Southern Tier Fiberarts Guild and is currently president for Woodstock Weavers (NY).
