Have a knitting machine gathering dust under your bed or in your basement? Bring it to Rhinebeck and learn how to bring it back to life! This hands-on workshop will teach you essential cleaning and maintenance techniques to assess your machine’s condition and prepare it for knitting.

What You’ll Do:
Check and evaluate your sponge bar condition
Clean needles, bed, and carriage thoroughly
Apply proper lubrication and oil
Inventory all tools and accessories
Identify what parts (if any) need replacement
Learn ongoing maintenance best practices

You’ll leave with a cleaner machine, a clearer understanding of its condition, and the skills to continue maintenance at home.

Before Registering:
If you have questions about whether your machine is appropriate for this workshop, please reach out before registering. This class is designed for standard home knitting machines that are mechanically complete and suitable for basic cleaning and assessment.

After Registration:
When submitting the materials fee, students will also complete a short questionnaire and share several photos of their machine and accessories in advance of class. This helps ensure the workshop runs smoothly and allows the instructor to prepare for the specific machines attending.
