Mosaic knitting is an easy colorwork technique to make stunning pieces. In mosaic knitting, only one color of yarn is used at a time and the colors alternate every two rows. Only certain stitches are worked in each row while the rest are slipped, which creates beautiful geometric patterns and fun accent rows. In this workshop, we’ll make several swatches based upon the mosaic patterns in the Grand Junction shawl and you’ll receive a copy of the pattern so that you will have all the tools to knit the shawl after the class is finished. We’ll discuss tips and tricks for keeping the yarn floats on the wrong side of the work loose and for choosing color combinations that pop.
