Stitched resist Japanese technique on fabric. We will work with organic cotton bandanas to practice a number of shibori stitched resist techniques. Items will be dyed in one of two dye vats. Indigo is a traditional blue vat dye. Kakishibu is a strong tannin dye from persimmon that is a rich brown in color and will darken with age. It also reacts very quickly to color modifiers like soda ash and iron.
