Learn the ins-and-outs of willow basketry while we weave a gorgeous teak and willow tray. In this four hour class, we will learn how to weave a willow basket onto a solid teak base, and will explore simple willow weaving techniques, such as the wale and the 3-pair border. No basketry experience is required to weave this beginner-friendly tray, although working with willow does require some hand and thumb strength.

Amy is an artist and basketry instructor living in the forest of the Catskill Mountains. Her project, Cambium Lost Arts, is one dedicated to the revival of dying or forgotten practices of traditional craft. Currently, her focus is centered on the practice of hand-split white oak and skeined willow basketry, which she travels the country to teach in order to keep these dying arts alive.
