Please read ALL the following information.
Most importantly - make sure you have the day, date, and time of your workshop(s) in your calendar!!
Once the week of the Festival arrives, we are busy with set up - emails are answered as time permits. Please review the README First, the FAQ, and/or spam folders before emailing. Email instructors with questions relating to the content of a workshop, but they can’t assist with logistics.
If traveling by train, be familiar with the schedule and make arrangements for transportation to the fairgrounds.
Lunch: The Fairgrounds Cafe is the only food vendor on Thursday/Friday (cash only and no ATMs are open onsite until the weekend). There are a variety of local restaurants just a short drive away.
e-Tickets:
Registration for every workshop includes a single code for weekend e-tickets (sat and sun) regardless of how many workshops taken. You don’t need an e-ticket for Thurs/Fri.
Registered before 10/12/24: We expect to email e-tickets to the registrant's email address beginning, in batches, starting Wednesday, 10/09/24. Please be patient and check spam.
Registering after 10/13/24: your name - NO e-tickets – will be on a list at the MULBERRY ST PEDESTRIAN GATE or 4H GATE ONLY.
Print the e-tickets or save it to your phone once received - Chrome and Firefox work best. e-tickets are not replaceable or refundable.
If you purchased classes as a gift and used your email address as their recipient email, then they won't receive this email, and you will get their e-ticket code.
LOCATION: Workshops are held in Bldg "D," the Tents D Area next to D (and NEW for 2024, 2 tents next to “Foster’s”, and Bldg 42 (“Foster’s”) - all in blue. See more info below for Thurs/Fri workshops and Sat/Sun workshops.
MISC. INFO:
Review class description for homework, what to bring, and material fees that need to be paid directly to the instructor.
Dress in layers and choose comfortable footwear.
Any class can be held in a tent due to space restrictions.
Building D has two industrial propane heaters and Tents have patio propane heaters.
We provide tables and chairs in each classroom - you may want to bring a cushion from home.
Bring a battery operated light with you if you need task lighting and an extension cord for e-spinners.
We’ll have coffee, tea, water, and a variety of snacks throughout each day inside Building D.
Reusable cups reduce waste, so if you have one, please bring it.
The Fairgrounds has a no smoking policy - this includes vaping.
Restrooms are a short walk away. There is no dedicated restroom for workshops.
There is no WIFI on the Fairgrounds - reception can be spotty, especially over the weekend.
NO children of any age are allowed to accompany students - no exceptions, no refunds.
CHECK-IN: Check-in Bldg D (accessed through Bldg C) prior to your first class. You'll get one irreplaceable lapel pin - your “badge” to workshop areas (it does NOT get you in any gate). Allow plenty of time for check-in, to find your class, and to have a snack/drink before heading to class. You won’t have to check in again if you’re taking other classes.
PRE-SALE PICKUP: Pre-ordered souvenirs, with receipt, will be available later in the morning in Bldg D, if you selected WORKSHOPS as your pickup location during online store checkout. The bottom of your receipt will indicate the pick up location you chose.
