Shetland knitters are famous for their beautiful “one piece” shawls. Learn the simple modern method for knitting a shawl from the center out while keeping the details that make a Shetland shawl unique.
We will be knitting a sample size traditional shawl, including edging. Square and triangular construction, yarn selection, chart reading, borders, edgings and blocking will be covered in detail. Students will receive instructions for a full size shawl.
Skill Level Required: Intermediate - Student should have some experience with circular and double-point needles.

There is a material fee of $5 which is included in the registration fee.
It includes: Pattern for a full-size shawl, handouts, folder.
Students must bring: Please bring a 50 g skein of a smooth light colored dk weight wool (or wool blend), a 16" circular and set of double point needles size US #7, stitch markers, and locking pin.
We also suggest bringing a battery operated light should you need additional lighting.
