I made my first basket late one afternoon in 1988 after a very challenging day as an elementary teacher…it was a disaster! However I found this craft engaging and my over thirty year relationship with basket making began. I have increased my skills and my love for baskets by consistently seeking out and taking workshops whenever and wherever I can. I belong to the National Basketmakers Organization as well as the Northeast Basketmakers Guild. I have taught basketmaking workshops privately, at Dutchess Community College, Dutchess County BOCES, at local libraries as well as at the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival. Providing basketmaking workshops allows me to combine my two passions…weaving baskets and teaching.
