Crispina ffrench is a forward thinking free spirit with a passion for environmental protection and recycling.

Crispina ffrench launched her recycled textile career while a student at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1987. Two years after earning her BFA focused on 3D Textile Art she was selling her wares to 350 stores internationally and employing 40 people. For 20 years ffrench ran a wholesale production company called CRISPINA. The company manufactured and sold soft home furnishings and clothing all made in the USA from recycled clothing with annual sales of nearly $1,000,000.

In 2008 ffrench’s mission is to build awareness and offer alternatives to excessive consumption took a turn. She closed her production company opting to focus on teaching. A Sweater ChopShop, Crispina’s teaching book was published. Workshops, speaking engagements, and corporate recycling programs ensued.

Today Crispina spends half of her time with The Dolphin Studio, a third generation hand screen printing business founded in 1970 by her parents and half of her time on promoting environmentalism and empowerment through creativity with her recycled textile work.
