NEW YORK SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL

Black and White Sheep Show

October 21-22, 2023

SPONSORED by THE DUTCHESS COUNTY SHEEP AND WOOL GROWERS ASSOCIATION
Judge: Ed Keeny

Dear Exhibitor,
We are now live for entries. It is in your best interest to submit your entries soon since they will close as soon as the pens are filled. When pens are filled, we will keep a waitlist so email Heidi Simmons
at hsimmons@bard.edu if you would like to be put on the list.

  • Penning charts will be posted in each barn. A reasonable number of pens will be assigned depending on the number of sheep entered. Please do not assume you will receive the number of pens you requested when entering.
  • Health papers must be dated within 70 days of the NYSWF. All animals will be inspected. Animals not listed on health papers will not be able to stay on the grounds.
  • Sheep may arrive on the grounds as early as noon on Thursday and as late as 8 am on Saturday.
  • Only sheep entered in the show, sale or breed display may be penned on the grounds.
  • Animals will be released AFTER the exhibitors meeting on Sunday with those living furthest away leaving first.
  • Bring your own hay and straw.

Please contact us at hsimmons@bard.edu with any CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS that will affect the number of sheep you will be bringing. Take care of substitutions (within same class only) when you check in.
